Its fabulous white petals starkly contrast with its dark black stems and horny long thorns. Its oval leaves are not due to arrive until after it blossoms and when in full bloom between March and early spring the haze of white flowers looks like a coat of snow on the bare branches, all of the deciduous trees are springing from their dormancy and Blackthorn is leading the way reminding us just how great it is to be outside again!
